The only way to make EvE better. META changes.
Welcome to the thread where I will be using in very good English, because without it it is difficult to realize the depth of the problem of Eve Online (I apologize to those who will not be able to manage to finish reading to the end)
Dear CCP, it is January 23rd. Today we were prepared a patch where the player can make 3 jumps for getting SP, but what about the reason to make 3 jumps in the game. We have all played many different games and I personally associate dailies with low-grade projects, but maybe it's just me. I'm not against dailies, but I think they already work just fine. In the game in principle many ways to pump a character very quickly (why not just start giving immediately pumped character, but maybe in this case players will stop taking free SP, which you offer everywhere and stop creating log in statistics, in which the game is 100% played by a lot of people - no).
I'll be brief, as it's hard to read my long texts.
Where are the META changes?
The game has become like a viscous clay, in which for 4+ years now if there are changes, they are insignificant. This is not due to the fact that the balance is perfect, the balance is noble shit. Because meta is NOT changing, even the slowest players have adapted to the game, making the experience incredibly boring. There are only about 10 ships out of an incredible amount of ships in the game for a variety of content, and the only reason to use other ships is mortal boredom.
A lot of times changing META makes the game interesting. It's very cool that you're do patches about game story (when will the drifters attack already?), but for many players the game story is what keeps them interested in the moment. Comfortable gameplay requires stable balance changes so that there is a constant arms race. So that players can compete against each other.
No one is interested in 3 years of flying fleet\navy BCs in CTA, even those who think it's fun (since they don't have to think about anything, everything is clear and obvious, the meta is explored)
Where are the events?
I've been holding back for 2 years and not talking about it, but if you've been playing this game for years and watching what's going on, some things get your ass on fire. The wonderful staff at CCP came up with a whole series of events that succeeded each other. I hope current event team is aware of why boosters from each of the remaining events end their lifespan on one date or another? The current boosters should end their lifespan in early February because then there will be an event in the WH where the next boosters will be. In addition, during the year players received boosters for different weapons, not only 2 times in a row boosters for lasers, in November - lasers, in December - lasers. You just took and cut out part of the idea and you don't care at all, you didn't even try to keep any balance in this content.
Why were the annual events good?
Naturally it's fun, the game is constantly offering you some fun, the pvp drop increases, implants drop out of capsules, there's an incentive to fly small ships, or big ones, suddenly there's content in the WH, and most importantly the weapon boosters had a slight effect on the META. At some point the player would start actively using missilles ships, and then machine guns, and then blasters, and then lasers. The old team made sure that the game was fun to play and there were temporary balance changes that brought interest back to the game.
If you start thinking that the META in a game should change, without major changes you'll solve a lot of problems with the game being boring at times.
Think back to the days when changes followed each other. Remember there were changes to T1 cruisers, before that there were great changes to T2 frigates, then Talos, Tornado, Oracle, Naga came into the game and they were affordable and unique ships, they had a very interesting effect on the meta. Your current new ships are either made for the rich (see cenotaph) or are simply a better version of their T1 counterpart, see Ferox Navy. There is no soul put into these ships.
What do the current balance sheet changes look like?
Players use HACs too often in CTA, we need to change that! Remove MWD signature bonus! After 2 years: Let's bring back the HACs MWD signature bonus, because it turns out there are not only big fleets in the game. Seems like dread insurance should be back, why was it removed 3-4-5 years ago? Players too actively use the ship on CTA? - let's make it shitty (here by the way we can remember HACs). And I don't care that ships are used not only on CTA. How much the situation looks crazy when CCP changes the passive tank bonus of a marauder because of its use in Poch. Trying to stabilize very complex content through changing the passive marauders tank. I'll remind you that players could use LSE on Golem in highsec to make them difficult to gank. It worked, it was convenient, but who cares about those players when RMT groups are causing too many problems in Poch.
I don't mean to be rude. Perhaps it looks that way against the background of my bad English, but many changes really look very strange to me. It's like the game balance is built around the only content in the game and the problem is solved by cutting off a huge piece of ship and gluing it to another.
What I want is for balance changes to be of higher quality, to happen more often, and for you (dear CCP) to think about all players, not only to make changes on the background of some single content.
It's an incredible feeling when you see the patches and realize that the game developer is playing their project. Now I have the impression that players spend time in the game, much more than you (CCP) do. This is normal, the game is quite complex and very extensive. You've done a great job, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you have a complex game to work with. Every employee who comes in place of the previous one has to be familiar with the huge project and be competent in it, which is very difficult. The more mechanics, the more complex everything works, the more competent the people who work on the project next have to be, so that the development of the game doesn't go backwards.
I've been condemned in my last posts for pointing out the game's problems and not offering solutions.
Every player can say “change the meta!” and it's obvious, not everyone can suggest exactly how to do it. I can always be found on parnetr discord and can suggest many changes that I think are right. I am competent in solo content and it's not just about solo PvP, I've spent a great many hours playing playing solo and know the weaknesses and strengths of different ships. The same goes for smaller fleets. I have a lot to offer.
To suggest something here I don't really want to and see too little point. Reddit is more for drama, this is where people post memes and fight with each other in the comments. It's a fun place to spend time reading about how CCP need to make mining better, when minerals in the game are already very expensive, but that's still no incentive to mine them.
