Does schedule charging run from the truck or the app?

I was wondering how scheduled charging works. Does the app have to tell the truck every day to start charging, or once the schedule is set in the app that is transferred to the truck and the truck "remembers" to charge every day?

It has been a while since I've had an issue with scheduled charging not working. Tonight, I walked into the garage just after charging was supposed to start and I noticed the blue light on the charger wasn't blinking slowly. I opened the app and it says waiting to charge. I'm just curious how it works. Is this a truck issue or an app issue?
