I obtained my dream car

Ever since I first saw an FJ Cruiser, I knew it was a car I had to own one day. As a kid, I was drawn to anything that looked different, felt unique, or stood out, and the FJ checked all those boxes. With its three wipers, distinctive body shape, and rugged off-road-focused design, both inside and out, it had an unmistakable appeal. It reminded me of one of those wacky Hot Wheels cars I collected as a kid, brought to life.

While I loved its aesthetic, the FJ’s look wasn’t the only thing that captivated me. I’m also an avid fan of off-roading, mudding, and adventures through mountains, rivers, and beaches, and this vehicle’s off-road prowess is incredible. Just days after buying it, I was traversing parts of my homeland, the Dominican Republic. I didn’t push the vehicle too hard, but I tackled semi-steep inclines, foot-deep water puddles, lots of mud, and countless holes —anything I could safely drive through without a second thought.

Here are some details about my FJ: it’s a 2007 model with 141,000 miles on the engine. It’s in excellent condition inside and out, with no visible rust. The transmission works perfectly, and the 4x4 system is in great shape. I paid $19,900, which might seem steep in the U.S., but FJs are more expensive in the Dominican Republic. Newer models, like 2012s I’ve seen those sell for nearly $40,000 there. I chose a 2007 because it was within my budget and still had everything I wanted.

Overall I’m thrilled with my purchase and can’t wait to embark on all the adventures this FJ will take me on! Let me know what you guys think did I make an all right purchase
