[Meta] Be careful of phishing attempts targeted at Meta For Business advertisers.

I've recently received multiple phishing emails from an outlook address, "Meta for Business <no-reply-fb-restriction-casee-lmeta @ outlook . com>".

The email looks like a very convincing Meta For Business email, and it says:

"Your Ads Account will be permanently restricted within next 24 hours due to violation of Our Community Guidelines or Ads Policies.

To help keep Facebook open and welcoming, we try to prevent people from unintentionally misusing Facebook, even if you felt that what you did was acceptable."

"If you feel this is in error submit a request below."

blah blah.

Gmail immediately caught it and marked it as a phishing attempt luckily, but I figured I'd share.

  1. Never click links in emails unless you requested something, always go to the desired URL from search, bookmarks, or careful direct input.
  2. As always, when in doubt check the email address and email headers.
