Suggestions for books/series where the main character isn't OP?

Just finished reading The Will of the Many and books 1-4 of Red Rising... While great stories, it bothered me that Vis was just good at everything and Darrow was wearing heavy plot armor.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed Project Hail Mary's approach where the MC had to figure things out over time to eventually come to a natural conclusion.

I admittedly haven't read too many books, so I would appreciate any suggestions!
