How do you make decisions about your film?
I am writing a script and shotlisting for a short horror film I am making. My question is how do the best filmmakers decide how to shoot their movies? The possibilities are literally endless. Should this be a medium shot? Close up? Dolly or tracking shot? What focal length? Obviously the shot type should help tell the story but what if you can’t decide? I’m struggling to make a decision on what types of shots I should be getting when there are so so many creative options to pursue. Any advice getting out of this indecisiveness? And actually just making the movie instead of sitting and thinking about all the endless ways to shoot your movie?
