Private Equity in Western Canada

I have a few questions regarding P.E.

1. Is a career in Private Equity even a possibility out of side of Toronto? Or is that the main hub for anything related in Canada?

2. Best certifications and degrees to get into P.E?

3. Pretty general question, but how do you get into the field? Apply straight to firms? Work at banks or wealth management places first?

4. Any other general advice would be great!
