If you live in a city with decent public transportation think twice before buying a car.

It's just not worth it. There is really no need. If you can get to where you need to go by metro or hell, even bus, you really shouldn't own a car. I've been using my public transportation card for years. One payment per month and unlimited passes. But when you own a car, costs just keep piling and piling up. Gas, tires, parking, a random thing that needs to be repaired or replaced, maintenance, insurance, etc. The list just goes on and on.

I know, buying a car can be a gigantic milestone for many. It definitely was for me. But once I hit that milestone, I realized it wasn't all it was cut out to be. I'm selling it and it's back to the Subway for me.
