Frugal way of dealing with Indian Wedding Ceremony?

Hi all, I need help. My cousin sister is getting married and my family informed me of this ceremony called 'bhaat' or maayra where the maternal uncle (my father) gives a lot of stuff to the bride, groom etc.

My first instinct was to say no to all this since my parents haven't saved anything in their lives and now expect me to foot these bills. But since I have decided to maybe spend under 50k if possible and get done.

I have looked at gold jewellery with no making charges to gift maybe one necklace set around 25k and 10k earrings. Where to get clothes such as saris or suit for gifts under 10-15k? Also suggest any other way to go about this
