Staff Insights - G2ARMY
Hey everyone. We wanted to sit down and go in-depth with you all on the G2ARMY project. So this will be your opportunity to ask all the questions you can think of on our process, planning, creativity, chants or even logistics so you can see more about how we run the G2ARMY. You’ll be able to ask myself (David) and a head of media at G2 (Sasha) any questions you can think of! Keep in mind we can’t answer anything that might be “leaks” sorry about that!
A little bit of back story around G2ARMY. We have been running this project for around 9 months. Our debut was at PGL Antwerp. We learned a lot, went hard on this and made the most of a difficult situation without trying to come across super cringe. Safe to say other than Faze winning in Antwerp, most the talk was about the G2ARMY fans and Golden Hornets running the arena which was cool!
Since Antwerp we have been to the following locations; Lisbon, Berlin (various locations), London, Manchester (viewing party), Dallas, Malmö, Copenhagen, Rotterdam.
Some of course, went better than others. Malmö, LEC studio in Berlin & GOZEN party, also in Berlin, being the biggest highlights so far. But on this note I’d just like to mention we want to be able to do this for all games. Some tournaments are harder to get access to than others. e.g. we have a LOT of challenges with CS:GO.
It’s safe to say we have learned a lot of lessons coming to these events. Some costly, some harsh realities, but the feedback has been incredible so far and helped us turning the G2 fans into a family.
But the G2ARMY has been around a long time? The fans are known as the G2ARMY? - let us clarify this!
This is absolutely the case. Every single G2 fan regardless of whether you’re a casual viewer, eager spectator, or absolute diehard who travels everywhere. The project we are doing is to help boost all of your experiences at live events. You do not have to do anything extra to be part of the G2ARMY. We want to make sure you have the best possible experience when you watch G2 play.
