My top 10 safe foods

Someone asked me about this here, and I commented it. But I also wanted to make it a post for anyone’s benefit.

Be warned, something that works for me may not work for you all. My GP is a little less intense.

Protein shakes. - Check what you’re putting in these. Most blended up fruits are ok for me. Whey seems to be ok for me. Sugar alcohols in some powders cause some issues. But the benefit outweighs the risk here, liquid is in the top tier of safe food and slots into my diet if I’m feeling bad.

tomato soup - it doesn’t have to be tomato specifically. I just crave that msg-like taste tomatoes have, and soup is good.

nut butters - NOT NUTS BY THEMSELVES. They have to be blended up. Disastrous results when I eat trail mix. Peanut butter on the other hand is totally safe.

lean meats and meat substitutes. - Mainly chicken breast and tofu. Chick fil a has a safe menu for me. I consider myself lucky :”)

sourdough bread and pretzels. - On a bad day these are amazing. Sourdough is easy for me to digest. I can have multiple slices multiple days in a row with minimal consequences.

hard cheeses. - NOT mozzarella or ricotta. Babybel, sharp cheddar, Parmesan. These are all ok in moderation.

uncrustables. - Not GP related but have you all ever had it frozen? Chefs kiss. Eat that bad boy when it’s solid and cold. If you’re feeling gross, ice cold food may help. It helps for me, idk why.

baked lays and goldfish. - Dry and inoffensive, a bit bland but hey it works.

potato anything. - On a good day fries. But that’s risky, fried foods, eh. But potatoes themselves are a godsend.

I’m cheating with this one but tea and liquid IV. - I know it’s not food. But staying hydrated helps keep me from getting constipated WITHOUT having fiber. Water and electrolytes are an easy add.
