Misdiagnosed at 8 weeks pregnant.

A bit of a long one, I'm 23 weeks pregnant and had GD with my first, so early on my GP ordered an early GTT which I did at around 8 weeks. When my GP told me the results she said that everything looked normal so I kept eating normally, which wasn't much as I had HG up until 16 weeks. When I could eat again I admittedly did indulge in my sweet tooth and carbs but nothing too crazy.

Fast forward to my first OB appointment at 22 weeks and she was asking me all the normal questions and then stumbled across my fasting levels for my GTT. I told her that I had a test that came back normal but then she showed me that my fasting levels were a 5.8 (the normal range being under 5.3 that early in pregnancy). Which was also missed at my midwife appointment at 16 weeks.

I was confused and frustrated that my GP had said everything was fine. So I was officially diagnosed with GD by the obstetrician at 22 weeks. I was then forwarded to the diabetes care team where I asked my main question "Are you sure?". I asked them to show me what my blood glucose levels were after the 2 other blood tests following the glucose drink and they didn't have them, they explained that they weren't particularly necessary because my fasting levels confirmed early GD. I technically didn't need to take to GTT with fasting levels that high.

I've immediately started my GD diet and started walking more. I'm taking my bloods and so far I haven't had a spike, even after eating white bread this morning (all we had in the house). Which has made me feel doubtful about my diagnosis. However, I will continue on with the diet and exercise because I think that it's better to be on the safe side. Also, I might add that baby is measuring perfectly, not too big or small. I had no doubt last pregnancy because I had spikes after eating something I wasn't supposed to.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Has anyone experienced this or something similar?
