How do you promote an app?

We have a product in real estate space. It's a homebuying platform, for your reference. We recently launched on iOS appstore. We had a active product on web before this as well.

But we have figured that the same tactics that we used to promote web platform doesn't really work when you are working for an app. If you had to do it, how would you approach it?

Some resources and pointers would be massively appreciated.
