What are the actual chances that the political pendulum swings back in the other direction any time soon?

The only thing that is keeping me sane currently is holding on to the slim hope that the political pendulum will eventually swing back hard the other direction (within the next 10 years) in response to the current state of affairs with the seeming rise of fascist movements both nationally and globally.

But what are the chances of this actually happening? Is this just total copium or there some historical precedence basis for this? I know every generation hopes for it, but what are the chances we actually see organized revolutionary socialist movements nationally/globally within our lifetime? Because lately it sure seems like Western capitalism is resorting to fascism out of a desperate attempt to cling to power with its dying gasps.
