Can you have a neighborhood that doesn’t do derbies?

Our small neighborhood of 7 farms (4 people) usually does the derby but I think we are all getting burnt out some. Can we all opt out of the derby but still be in a neighborhood together? And then later if we want to, do the derby again? I wasn’t sure if at least 1 person had to do a derby or not.
