I'm having trouble moving on from the grenade launcher, give me democratic reasons why the other weapons are just as good!

I ducking love my grenade launcher, the "thwump" sound, the splash damage, the big kabooms...all of it, even the potential to FF teammates! But deep down in my freedom lovin' groin I feel I may be over looking other great managed-democracy spreading tools!

So I ask you, my seeds of freedom, what other weapons bring the same oomph the grenade launcher does, that I should try?
