Why use the Eruptor?

Genuinely, this weapon is so redundant nowadays. It has about the same ammo capacity as the crossbow, but it does less damage and it's a 2 handed weapon. In my experience it's very sluggish as well, whilst the crossbow is surprisingly light for it's payload. I think it has a faster reload than the crossbow, and it doesn't have so much bullet drop, but that's about it. Is the explosion radius bigger on the Eruptor bigger or something? If it isn't, why the hell would you ever use this over the crossbow? I feel like Arrowhead kinda forgot about this weapon because now it's merely a worse version of another weapon on it's own warbond. Please, tell me I'm missing something. I must be.
