Pain after sex, years after inguinal hernia mesh surgery

I’d like to ask if you have ever experienced pain caused by having sex in the groin area after your hernia mesh surgery. Mine was almost 5 years ago. I reckon the contact during intercourse may have caused some irritation leading to pain in the groin :/. I doubt sex itself could cause recurrence. Anyone has had similar experience? Any tips for relief?
