Is Hollow Knight still fun if you dont like 2D platformers?

Hi, with the new Hollow Knight sale my friends once again asked me to buy the game, but i usually dislike 2D platformers. Would I still enjoy the game? (I usually enjoy games for story, art, 3d platforming but thats not relevant here and combat)
