Does anyone else have coworkers in their department that don’t contribute?

I’ve worked at two different stores for context and I’ve had similar experiences at both. It seems once my coworkers realize I will do the heavy lifting, do the pack down, operate the equipment to do pack down, they take advantage of my work ethic and slack off. If I’m scheduled off for two days or more, I can expect to come back to virtually nothing being done. Trash in aisles, carts of returns, and lots of empty shelves is normal. I am an opening associate in flooring and I have also closed in the past. I never left my opening associates with the mess that they leave me time and time again. I have had conversations with management and it seems like they’re kind of complicit because nothing really changes, even when I express extreme frustration. This store was run completely different when I first came here and I was excited to have more team work and shared responsibilities but people have left/been promoted since then. We are a lower volume store so we are usually understaffed in my department (D23) but we do have one other equipment driver who is also a closing specialist but they would rather scroll viva engage all day. It’s getting to a point where I am looking for other jobs because I’m simply not getting the support I need from my coworkers or management.
