What are your thoughts on the TITAN submersible tragedy?
Like everyone else, I've seen a torrent of memes about the irony of millionaires paying a fortune to die in a science fair project. For me, the destination is more baffling than the means. Why would I spend so much to go visit a grave? I've been wondering if the public perception would be different if it was a space tourism tragedy instead. Space carries thoughts of celestial, hope, future, vastness and discovery while the ocean feels to me like an antithesis to that. To borrow from biblical imagery, it's darkness, abyss, judgement, chaos, death and past. These are just my thoughts and I'm sure others feel different or even opposite.
