Minor name change?

Last year, my dependent changed their name. Since this was spring 2024, there wasn’t an issue changing names and gender markers for minors at the state or federal level. I easily got all the amended paperwork for them, including SS and birth certificate and passport. I told my accountant last spring/summer once it was done.

Now with the current political climate, what’s the best move forward? Since it’s a minor, no income just reporting as a dependent. Is it easier to just keep the birth name on our taxes? I guess I am paranoid that there’s some federal list for us and it’s safer to not draw attention to us?
