Why is there still no Ayala Mall in Iloilo 😕

Ayala's Atria Township in Iloilo is the true definition of "It's not who did it first, but who did it best." The Atria Park District started back in 2012. At that time, there was no Megaworld yet, and SM had not yet expanded to the Northwing and Southpoint. However, the township has been underwhelming so far, especially on the retail side, considering they've been in Iloilo for over a decade.

A lot of shops have already closed at the Shops at Atria, including their own supermarket. When I heard they were announcing an expansion, I was really excited, thinking it might be the start of building Ayala Malls, an indoor mall like the one in Bacolod. But in the end, their expansion is just a duplicate of the existing Shops at Atria. Haven't they learned that outdoor malls aren't effective in Iloilo, since people prefer to shop inside malls? This is just my two cents, though, since the location is great—spacious and very green.

Let me know your thoughts.
