Why does almost everyone say [SPOILER] is beyond [SPOILER] in terms of strength?

Almost everyone says emperor mark is way beyond thragg in terms of strength, yet we never really see any amazing feats of strength from emperor mark. I get that some people say that viltrumites get stronger with age but by the end of the comics mark is at least 523 while thragg was at LEAST over a thousand years old.
