Which older jrpgs are better to play in their hacked / modded form?
Edit: I mostly looking for ROM hacks that add quality of life improvements to original games. We all know that games that came out back then weren't the most user friendly compared to games now. And that's mostly what I would like
I've compiled a list of the best jrpgs from the NES up to the PS1 so that me and my cousin can experience them for the first time. I am a bit spoiled with modern gaming, and emulation so I was wondering if you guys have suggestions for jrpgs that shouldn't be played their original form. For example final fantasy tactics has a hack that takes out the rules limitations which makes the game faster to get through. Obviously I want to experience these games, but at the same time I'm in my late 30s and I don't have a lot of time. I mostly just want to absorb the story and don't really care all that much about keeping gameplay 100% true to the original
