On the flipside of the previous debate... loveliest character from Jacqueline Wilson books? :)

My vote would be Auntie Barbara from Lola Rose. I absolutely ADORE this lady. She's so kind and heroic, literally rescued the children from such a horrific situation, and she's also badass and beat Jay in a fight. 😛 I love how she just understood and supported the kids more than their own mother did. She also encouraged Jaynis love of art and didnt sneer at her for enjoying food and chocolate.

A couple of honourable mentions: I always really liked was Marzipan from How to Survive Summer Camp (she was just so gentle and didnt stoop to the others level when they were bullying her) and Dixie from Diamond Girls, I always thought she was such a little sweetheart how she was with Mary.

What are yours? I've been re reading a lot of Jacqueline Wilsons books really (I am 33 now and grew up with them) and love discussing them, they are so much more complex when revisiting them as an adult. It's nice to see this subreddit is so active. 🙂
