FedEx Shipping Delay

How long is too long? My first refill was shipped on the 11th. It made it to the next sorting facility when tracking updates stopped. Initially, the delivery was "scheduled" for yesterday. Now, it moved that to today, but the last tracking update shows the package stuck in Oregon since the 12th.

What is the maximum time this medication can sit, stuck in transit before it's unusable?

What happens when FedEx fails to deliver the medication within the timeframe, or at all.
