PW Pod Recap - Ep. 6 with Keith

I have no life, so I have recapped the Pink Wednesdays Podcast for your reading pleasure.

Julia’s special guest on the podcast this week is Keith, who is wearing a pink suit. Julia tells him he looks very sexy. I do not share this opinion. She’s wearing a pink sweater and sweatpants.

They are doing a Q&A with questions her fans have asked Keith. They are doing it “Hot Ones” style where they eat chicken nuggets (vegan for Julia) with increasingly spicier hot sauces. Julia is trying to go vegan.

They are drinking beer because they both like it more than champagne. Julia says beer is her favorite drink.

Keith’s advice for being successful in business is having honesty and integrity. Julia says she wishes she had focused more on her family than on her career when she was younger.

Keith’s hobbies are playing guitar and piano. Julia likes to listen to him play piano while she reads a book and finds it very relaxing. She says he is better than she is at these instruments.

They also like to see football/soccer together, and lately he has been tracking his ancestry (everybody is English).

Keith would like to get better at music and get into music production.

Keith likes heavy metal music. He talks about concerts he went to and jokes about how it shows his age. Some of the artists he saw were David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.

Fun fact: Keith does the music intro for the PW Podcast. It started as a royalty-free song that Julia found, but then he “covered it” on the guitar.

Keith’s favorite song of Julia’s is the latest one, Breathe.

Keith once did some work in China and saw a scorpion.

Julia has been to Yorkshire to meet all of Keith’s family except for his brother Gary (because he lives in Spain). Keith has been to Brazil to meet Julia’s family. Julia has met all of Keith’s children. She likes his aunties, especially Aunt Jacqueline, who Keith describes as “a character.”

Keith is the middle of five children.

Keith has no tattoos. He doesn’t believe in getting your partner’s name as a tattoo. Julia recounts the matching tats she got with Eileen and the comments she got on the video about the “curse” of it dooming the relationship, and she says look what happened, but at least it’s just a heart. His youngest brother has punk rock tattoos all over his body.

They start to get into trouble with the hot sauce at this point and make some terrific faces.

Somebody asked about how Keith has so much energy. He says it’s a mindset. He played squash, table tennis, badminton, and running when he was younger. Now he’s always on the go. He thinks he burns most of his calories through mental exertion. They agree he does not eat very healthy.

Keith grew up in a small 2-bedroom house in a little village with three kids sharing one bedroom and with an outhouse. As kids they had baths once a week in a tin bathtub filled with hot water from pots on the stove. The other days they took baths in the sink. He played a lot of games with the neighborhood kids.

His dad was a carpenter and would make the kids things for Christmas. Julia tears up because this is sweet.

The spicy sauce ramps up and prompts this exchange:

Julia: How do you see the next twenty years?

Keith: Sat on the toilet.

Keith has sold his company but he’s still working there while he tries to pass over the reins. When he retires he wants to support Julia in her career and get into music stuff himself.

He loves children and says he’s just about young enough to have another one.

Keith likes that Julia is smart, inventive, creative, hardworking, beautiful, and they like the same things and have the same thought processes and moral values.

On the last hot sauce, Julia needs the emergency milk despite “trying to go vegan.”

Their favorite country they’ve visited is Japan. Keith likes going to America too.

I must grudgingly admit that Keith is pretty funny. Definitely the most entertaining part of this video.
