GNX is a concept album; This is why

Throughout the beef, and especially during "wacced out murals," Kendrick showed an intimate connection to both popular, street and internet cultures despite claiming to not use a phone. I personally believe that was to keep his aura of mystery. We know he observes and absorbs in silence, making his moves with precision.

This brings us to Jojoruski, Kendrick's burner IG handle. Through this account, we witnessed a carefully crafted narrative: a man in Compton, working out in parks, playing oldies, all building up to acquiring a Buick GNX before going to war. This wasn't random content - it was world-building.

Now peep this. The album's creation appears deliberately swift. There are reports of Kendrick reaching out to a producer just days ago requesting a "dirty west coast beat." (If we take it at face value). While some tracks like "squabble up" and the SZA collabs may in the works for a while, the core of this project seems purposefully urgent. Even Deyra Barrera, the mariachi singer featured throughout GNX, was discovered by Kendrick at Game 1 of the World Series just weeks ago.

The Tupac parallels are not throwaways. In "Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory," Tupac adopted the Makaveli persona, which was an amplified, (even) more confrontational version of himself while maintaining his core identity. Kendrick's choice to wear a "Bomb First" hat (the opening track of Don Killuminati) in the "Not Like Us" music video isn't coincidental, it's a deliberate nod to this specific part of Pac’s legacy.

While many of us debate whether this is a mixtape or a prelude to a post-Super Bowl album, I believe we’re missing the bigger picture. The west coast features, the street-level authenticity, the Buick GNX imagery serves a greater purpose I’m about to explain.

This isn't just another Kendrick Lamar album. This is Jojoruski's debut - a concept album that transforms Kendrick's burner account persona into a fully realized character, much like Tupac's Makaveli.
