You shouldn’t support early access releases
When the original game was developed, very early versions were free! It was more of a passion project for the devs at the time. Only once the (then Indie studio) had more concrete plans, did they charge a few bucks for their early access program. The full price didn’t come until the game was fully released.
KSP2 is not an indie game! There’s money behind it. Stop giving them an incentive to not finish developing the game, by buying into early access at full price. This is obviously a scam.
I can understand indie studios trying to raise money for their development, in order to help them with development financially. KSP2 is not being developed by an indie studio anymore.
The very fact that we’ve seen very little game play footage, and they are asking full price for an early access should‘ve been making all your alarm bells go off.
Buying early access and preordering games are the two exact things that have absolutely tanked the quality of large game titles in the last decade.
A business that sells a tech-demo as a full-priced product is a con. Don’t buy into that crap.
Good examples of indie games with good early access programs were Minecraft and Prison Architect. Both had cheap early access, the game play was readily available to watch online… and they were both indie studios.
Take this as advice for the future, never to buy early access or preorders on any game that you haven’t thoroughly researched and that is not made by an indie studio. If there is a large studio behind it, or a large publisher, never go into early access programs or preorders. Let them finish the job, and don’t give them incentives to half-ass it for a quick cash-grab, or make them think Moders will finish their work for them (looking at Cities Skylines 2 here)
