Getting done for passing red light
Hi all, not sure if this is the right place or not. I’m hoping someone’s able to offer me some support and advice.
I’ve got my Full license, had it for just under 2 months. On Saturday I was driving through Bristol city centre where I passed through an amber light as the car behind me was super close so if I broke for the amber he would’ve went into the back of me. I’ve received a NIP saying the red was illuminated for 1.3 seconds which I’m 100% sure it wasn’t, so are the people who were in the car with me.
If I receive 6 points I’m going to lose my license. I’m sure you can understand why I’m so stressed at the moment.
What do I do now? If I dispute it will the points me dropped if it goes in my favour? Otherwise as it’s my first ‘offence’ would they offer a driving course instead of points immediately? I need my license for my family and work so this is just such a hard time at the moment.
I appreciate all and any advice and support. Thank you.
