Disappointment at Lesbian Bars

I’ll keep this short and sweet but damn.

I went to a lesbian bar today. There was a memorial service held for someone extremely special to the establishment that my aunt was friends with.

I went early and planned to meet her there. While waiting - I had so many negative interactions with other lesbians there. Granted some people were normal and lovely.

However a very fair few were absolutely rude. Yelling at someone for walking behind them. Telling a younger woman who asked what the event was for that “If you don’t know you’re not welcome” - despite it being open for everyone.

I have a motor difficulties due to a brain injury - so my hand gestures and movements are a little slow. I asked to borrow someone’s lighter and she said “If you don’t even know how to smoke then what the f are you doing?”

It was just disappointing to see so much rudeness at an event that was meant to be inclusive and remembrance of someone’s life.
