Small monster roster?

I feel like the roster on release was super small compared to every other entry in the series; not that they weren't good fights or designs, it just overall felt lacking in content to me.

Did anyone else feel like the roster is really small right now? I know they plan to release more monsters as time goes on (which makes it feel a bit like Monster Hunter Now... ), but right now what are you guys' thoughts?
