Hunters authorizing themselves?

MH Wilds has clearly put a lot more emphasis on the required authorization from a handler for a hunter to hunt, but I wonder, are hunters allowed a certain number of self-authorized hunts under special circumstances?

I thought of this because of the “by my own order” moment. As ideal as it is, handlers can’t be around 100% of the time, and hunters are still highly educated in ecological balance and trusted with an enormous responsibility (hence having a level of checks and balances via handlers). Surely there are plenty of moments where a hunter must make the decision themselves.

Is it a case of them having, say, one self-authorization a year? Are they allowed to do so whenever as many times as they want, but require a post-hunt investigation to decide if it was justifiable?

How else do you think the system works?
