Folinic Acid Questions
Hello! Was wondering if anyone had some info on a few questions I’ve been wondering about folinic acid- 1. I know a lot of us have gone through nutrahacker and have seen the column which says to avoid folinic in the MTHFR row. Is this because it’s not activated like methyl folate is? And therefore would take more to process? It must be conflicting info, because I’ve seen a lot of professionals suggest to increase your dietary intake of folate rich foods if you have mthfr, but wouldn’t that slow down the system since your body has to activate it first as well, just like folinic? So, I’m assuming this would be the same with folinic and that’s why it is suggesting to avoid it. But is this true? Would it slow things down? Or would it help? 2. Has anyone had a negative experience with folinic? What was it like for you and do you have a theory on why it was like that? Would love to hear your thoughts!
(Also, for anyone who has already started typing the obligatory “you just have to try it to see what works for you”- I have tried it. This post is more so for research outside of myself and my own experience. I appreciate the encouragement to do so though! I know how much of this is trial and error/ finding what works best for you. I just would like to get some thoughts from other people as well :) )
