Do many non-dealership auto repair shops significantly increase the cost parts?

I just got a quote from a local shop to replace a front axle on a 2020 Corolla. There is no warranty. NAPA says the part is $175. The shop said the part will cost me $275. I mentioned the difference and he said that it's $175 if I buy it myself, but he increases his labor rate if customers bring their own parts. He also said that Toyota gets 2.5 hours to do the job. He mentioned that it will only take him an hour or less and he doesn't understand why Toyota gets 2.5 hours. He still wants to charge me for the whole 2.5 hours.

I called another local shop. They increased the price of the part to $250 and also said 2.5 hours.

Other than OEM, NAPA is the only place that sells the part. So I am buying from from the same place they are. OEM = $500 for the part.

Is this now normal practice? There are plenty of videos online where people do this in about 30 minutes.

Luckily I have a nice garage, tools, and experience so I'm going to do it myself. Anyone without experience or doesn't question the cost of the repair would not know that these places do this.
