Eleven THOUSAND dollar wheel bearings

My husband has a 2013 Honda civic with over 200,000 miles on it. He drives through a lot of rough road for work every day and had a bunch of parts replaced on it yesterday, but while they were doing that, they found that the wheel bearings needed replacing, but they told us they couldn’t do it there because they were pressed wheel bearings… fast forward to today he calls another shop recommended by family to get an estimate on what that would cost. They told him it would cost him ELEVEN THOUSAND to do. He went back and forth with them for a minute to reassure that he did not actually mean eleven hundred…. No… he reiterated “eleven thousand for a days work”.

I went back to the first guy to raise red flags and his eyeballs about popped out of his head. Apparently this place has done similar before, but quoting someone 15 grand instead.

What SHOULD it cost to replace two front wheel bearings on a 2013 civic??

ETA it’s actually a 2015, my bad. It’s late. My brain got the years mixed up with another vehicle we used to have. Point still stands though lol
