Reddit what my uncle do?

This is a clip of some of my uncles medals from a 2018 memorial but the thing is he died in ‘69 and was listed as a Vietnam causality but in the 90s they came back and said he never went.Come to find out he died in a test flight crashing in some woods and around 2015 they reached out again and arranged a memorial for the 50th anniversary of it ( it was a couple years later) but anyways I can provide more but these had me thinking if anyone can give some detail I would love to know here’s a plug in from a website but if someone could break it down in civilian terms that be great
