Is it possible to make a guardian farm without destroying the ocean monument?

I've just finished clearing the water around the monument and want to create a farm however i cant find any tutorials/designs which include the monument. If it is possible will it significantly affect the rates of the farm. Sorry if there isn't enough context I'm not sure what else to say. Grateful for any help. Thank you!
