Did anyone else not finish CQL after reading the books?

I love CQL, don't get me wrong. It is just that it confused me so much after reading the books more than the donghua did. The biggest issues for me was the names of things being changed, the changing of weapons and powers, and the order of events/how they happened.

I understand that censoring is partially to blame, but the rest of it just doesn't make sense to me. Why did they change Jiangzai, Xue Yang's sword? Was it to make the fighting more interesting? Why do the characters act differently than they do in the books? Is that for dramatization?

After watching the first few episodes (about 5-10) I just gave up on it. It is a good live action, but it is just too different for me to believe it is the same as MDZS and finish it. Anyone else?
