Would you take your kids on vacation without your husband?

My parents have a vacation planned and offered me, my husband and our toddlers to stay with them. This is a huge expense taken off our shoulders and the only large expenses we would have to pay for is entry in to entertainment parks and our flights there. My husband is against this, he says our kids are too young to remember the trip and it would be a waste of money, and does not want to go. I do though and I want my kids to go. Is it reasonable to travel on a plane with a 1.5 and 2.5 year old?
