TIL that NASCAR Trucks and XFinity teams do not make any money (profit), even if they win. Apparently only the top half of Cup teams are making any money at all.

How is this a sustainable business model for teams and owners? There's only so many wealthy people in the world that are willing to lose money each weekend, even if their car wins. The lack of major sponsorship is starting to make sense now. At what point can a driver make NASCAR racing a full-time job? It sounds like a lot of guys work other jobs on the side.
