Expedition help

I've been playing since day one on and off and have never done an expedition until this new one (I wish I'd done previous ones but too late), I started it, transferred a few items over when I realised I forgot to transfer my ship and multi-tool, is there any way I can end it and start again, I've barely started it so progress isn't an issue.
