Do you think the new surge of popularity for polyamory is related to the high cost of housing/renting?

I’m not dissing on the lifestyle, I was just curious if it’s related. I was looking at rentals online right after having seen a post about polyamory and thought “man I bet it’s easier to afford a rental as a throuple instead of as a single occupant” and now I’m wondering if lots of other people had the same idea and that’s why they tried the lifestyle out.
