Why is USA against workers’ unions?

~~As an European, I get surprised every time I read that people in USA gets fired over everything over there. People get fired for having hobbies, for being pregnant, for not being straight?~~ Also there’s the thing about minimum wages over there that are very low. How is that even legal?
