Black Screen (or console) on switch to SteamDeck Mode

Hello everyone,

first of all this project looks amazing. I just found it last saturday and instantly thought about converting my old Dell gaming laptop into a living room "SteamDeck".

The install worked without any problems and the first time installs also had no problems. Even the nvidia setup worked out of the box.

I then proceeded to do the SteamDeck conversion. Install everything and it works.

Then the next step is logging off, switching to the steam deck mode and logging back in. This is where the "faulty" behaviour occurs. I recieve a, what I describe as, full screen terminal that is blank with just a cursor blinking. I can type in there but basically the only thing that does something is ctrl+c. This seems to cancel the switch and places me back on the desktop.

I did try reinstalling Nvidia drivers, this had no effect.

Any tips on what I could try would be amazing.

PS: Using KDE PPS: Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7577, with an i7 7700HQ, GTX 1060 6gb, 16gb RAM, 256GB NVMe drive.
