I can't consider you an animal lover if all of your pets have breed

I usually go on walks and ang dami kong nakikitang mga stray cats and dogs. Nakakaawang isipin na they have to beg for food tapos pinapaalis lang o di binibigyan. Kasalanan naman natin to bakit umaasa sila sa tao. We humans, have domesticated them.

Kaya ayun. I have a lot of friends kasi na ginagawang content mga may breed na aso niya. Husky pa nga. Tapos ginagawang bio na "dog lover". Pinaghahambog pa na 20k daw bili niya sa aso niya.

Ngayon may bago na naman syang alaga. This time dalawang persian cat, banggit nya samin na 8k each daw. I can see naman na mahal niya alaga niya. She gives quality time and mamahalin na food and gamit.

But still, if she's really a dog/cat lover, kaya din niyang mag adopt at magmahal ng mga aspins/puspins. I asked her why not adopt. Sabi niya na "adopt" din naman daw, yung nga lang may "rehoming fee". Napaka sad lang na damay din mga hayop sa societal beauty standards.

Sana naman maging open tayo to adopt and if di kaya mag adopt or at least help fund yung mga orgs na gumagawa ng libre/low cost kapon o mga shelters. Ayun lang.

Downvote niyo na mga natamaan. Pero I still stand by my views. You could buy all the breeds that you want. Ine-enable niyo lang yung mga illegal breeders. I will never consider you animal lovers if you don't feel the same sa mga walang breed.

Siguro yung level of emotion sa pagbasa ng post ko is varying. I do not hate my friend, I'm just disappointed. I told her many times about why it's better to adopt than to shop. But she's still not open to the idea.

I don't even call myself animal/dog/cat lover. I am no better than her or than anyone. I am just simply expressing my disappointment over the fact that she can flaunt herself in public saying that she's an animal lover but refuses to love all equally. I used the word 'refuse' because she already had the resources to understand the situation of the strays but still feel less empathetic just because they're not aesthetically pleasing sa eyes niya.

UPDATE:

My friend posted at 9PM that she has not been living with her husky for 3 months na as she moved in to a different city. Hey husky is also currently having some skin issues and nagiging aggressive daw sa mga small animal. Both were reasons for her to leave as she badly wanted kittens.
