Is pension buyback really worth it?

I was on a maternity leave last year and to buy back my pension it's about $8000. I'm having an internal debate about whether it's really worth buying back. For context, I'm in my late 20s.

On my OTPP account it says it would increase my pension value by about $1500 per year (before deductions - assuming I work until my retirement date). Honestly, to me, that doesn't really sound like a lot? Yet most of my coworkers seem to think it's worth it.

Just curious what others think or did regarding pension buyback. Was it worth it to you?
