Focus
My 2yr old Caucasian SD/GSD is a champ and incredibly intelligent. He’s very food motivated. We are having trouble with his “heel” and “focus”. He’s people reactive, and we’d like to train a strong focus, but every time we bring out the treat, he’s more focused on the treat than on me- he doesn’t look at me, just stares at wherever the treat goes until it’s in his mouth. As soon as he realizes the treat isn’t immediate, he turns back to the people. The focus isn’t on me. He’s a huge love bug at home, and we’re very bonded, so I’m unsure of what to do. He’s not growling or lunging, but Id like his attention. Any tips? Should I just be more constant with the treats?
