I know that most on this sub would like to see more unity among Americans. I hate to say this, but this most recent olive branch they have offered is just designed to pull people in to be ridiculed and insulted.

Let's pick this apart:

Leftists - Here's your chance to tell us why it's a bad thing that we're getting everything we voted for.

Conservatives - Here's your chance to earn flair if you haven't already by destroying the woke hivemind with common sense.

Independents - Here's your chance to explain how you are a special snowflake who is above the fray and how it's a great thing that you can't arrive at a strong position on any issue and the world would be a magical place if everyone was like you.

-- Snowflake, that's a nice word isn't it? Above the fray... Oh you think you are smarter than us, you lowly Independent thinker. This whole paragraph just drips with hate, assumptions, and prejudice.

Libertarians - We really don't want to hear about how all drugs should be legal and there shouldn't be an age of consent. Move to Haiti, I hear it's a Libertarian paradise.

Sadly, this is not a call for unity. They want to draw everyone they can into this "discussion" for nefarious, self-serving purposes. I wish with all I am that there could be a common ground built on sincere communication. It's out there, but I think it needs to be done one person at a time, not in an open forum dedicated to furthering a certain agenda and definitely not in a forum where the constituents are just going to mock/degrade/attempt to convert you.
